Can't compare food and bikes.  We need bikes to get to food.  But any food is eventually going to turn to chit.  Can't say that about a good bike that's taken care of.

CVOBIKER - (add 1/2 ounce tobacco if you want them on warm side)

Copenhagen, Skoal, Beechnut, Camels, for white beans. Menthols such as Kools or Salems for black beans.
Marijuana for pintos.

cvobiker's recipe sounds great! Pace Picante is also good to add for flavor and the warm side.

Most raw beans need to be covered with appx 4 times water to beans (4 cups water to 1 cup beans) and soaked overnight. Or quick method is boil water with beans for 2 minutes shut off and let soak for 1 - 2 hours. Then cook

Adding about half of a peeled cubed potato to cook in the beans adds an enzyme that helps the body digest the beans.
Undigested beans ferment in the large intestine producing GAS.
Throw away the potato pieces after the beans have cooked.

Do not add acidy foods such as tomatoes until beans are cooked.

Put all ingredients into a cooking pot and bring to a boil.  Cover and turn heat down to somewhere between medium and low.  You want the boil to continue, just not too fast.  Simmer beans for about 2 to 3 hours or until soft and completely cooked. Don't let the beans run out of water so check them now and again and add more water if needed.

Bushes brand canned beans are good and much easier.
