2009 and up touring header on older touring
« on: November 21, 2010, 05:07:07 AM »

Iirc someone did a post including parts that need to be changed and including pictures from a 2009 (and up) header install on a older model.
Can't find that post with the search.
Anyone that has the url?

Thanks in advance

I have seen the 09 and later exhaust installed on an 07 with the 09 oil pan. The 09 pan is different and required for crossunder pipe clearance.
The oil pan was really the only thing preventing it all from simply bolting on. The oil pans are cheap, 65.00 (Zannottis) dont ask me how I know.
If your playing with a 5 speed, I'm not sure the 6 speed pan will fit?
Time for the parts managers to chime in.

Thanks for the reply.
Thinking about testing a set on a 2007 110ci CVO.
Noise levels are getting more strict over here.
Wondering how a stock 2009 and up catless touring header or x-pipe will compare to a 2in1 SuperMegs. Performance versus Sound/Noise.
We need the volume of large mufflers to get the noise down. Even the Supermeg is too noisy.

Even thought about the possibility to mount two mufflers behind a Supermeg header. But I don't think we have the length to add a Y pipe to get from the Supermeg header into two separate mufflers. 4" Fatshots or Megaphone or whatever. Making it a 2in1in2
