Headwinds Passing Lights on 2011
« on: November 22, 2010, 04:29:30 PM »

I have just had some new Headwinds passing lights installed.  I wanted to take the time to let everyone know that they look awesum.  I will show pictures if anyone wants to see them and there are some other pictures of others that have installed these passing lights on the street glide.  They are not the big ugly Harley lights (my opinion) but provide more light to see at night and be seen.
If you decided to order these, the L-bracket mount that comes with the kit must be modified.  The owner at headwinds will take care of you!  I got these in and when I got them installed, the turn signal touches the lowers with the bars fully turned.  I called the owner and we discussed the possible solutions.  The ultimate solution was for him to come up with another L-Bracket that is about 1/8 of an inch thinner.  I only have a temporary installed right now while he is making me the permanant solution.
This is a great product and the owner is standing behind it including the machining of new parts.
Be sure and tell him you have the 2011 CVO with lowers when you buy them!

Those look much better than the ugly HD passing lights.

For someone with some mechanical know how I'd say yes. My dealer did mine as part of the mods and did put a spot switch on which I like 'cause these things are bright.

Just remember to tell them when you order that you have a CVO Street Glide.  With the lowers they didnt quite fit.  The owner was great though and has sent me some temporary brackets that are about 1/8" thinner.  The problem was that the lights made contact with the lowers when the bars are fully turned. They are now close, about an 1/8" but they are not hitting.
He is still in the process of making me my permanant chrome ones.  N/C of course.  Good company, good response to the problem.

I too am interesting in adding these lights but I was waiting until they had the mount issue corrected.  Has anyone heard that the issue with the lights coming in contact with the lower fairing being resolved yet?  Thanks.

He made me some temporary bracket while the permanant ones were being made.  Thanks for the reminder.  I will call him today and see the status.

They are closed until Jan 4th so I will have to call them back after the 1st of the year.  The temporary ones he made me look ok (chrome look) until he gets my other ones made and chromed.
