Buell Typhon 1190
« on: December 01, 2010, 02:03:55 PM »

I know that the Buell-bikes were not very popular in the states,
but in Switzerland they have a good community. Harley-Heaven
received the price for the best Buell-Seller in Europe. I'm
not sure, but think it was in 2008.

It's not that Buells were unpopular in the states.  Buells were unpopular when they had that junk gussied up Sportster engine that they were trying to pawn off as "Sportbikeish".  Any run of the mill Japanese 600 would eat them for breakfast.  I own a 2009 1125R.  Equipped with Barker's exhaust, modded intake, EBR ECM, and void of EPA nonsense this bike absolutley rails.  Anything short of a 1000cc is toast.  In the long run, Harley dumping Buell will be the best thing for Erik. Now he can concentrate on doing what he does best- build bikes that can compete with the best from Europe and Japan.  Mind you this is coming from a guy that has owned many Japanese rockets.

The Moco should have never approached MV Agusta and saved that money
for Erik and his ideas. I hope he will come back with a sport-bike soon.

It's true.  EBR is working on a new bike.  Once in a while I run into some of the guys from EBR (I live only a couple miles EBR) and they are a cool, dedicated group of motorheads.
