How would you rate your dealer?
« on: December 07, 2010, 06:15:58 AM »

Without politics, I want to know what you guys think of your dealers? I am under the impression that MOCO doesn't really care for the type of service given to customer as long as dealers sell bikes and achieves targets. What do you think?

Lets see;

I get along with and like just about every employee.
I've never had a service issue that wasn't promptly dealt with.
I've bought 4 5 bikes there in the last 6 years.
They price competitively. MSRP dealer.
They do "little things" for all customers both at the time of sale and afterwords.
They keep great hours.
They'll get travelers in right away.
Motorclothes ladies are attractive and attentive.
Nice, clean store.
Owner's pretty much a dick but has learned to let his staff run things.
Very much supports HOG Chapt.
Lots of charity events.

A solid "A".
BTW, New Century H.D., Medina, OH

all bikes at msrp, service dept. delivers what they promise, parts are at moco catalog prices, and the apparel dept. is about like any other i've visited, so i guess i'd have to give them[ ROUGH RIDER HARLEY ] pretty high marks.

St. Paul HD and Wild Prairie HD in Eden Prairie, MN (same owner) are both top notch dealers. Great service staff, always listen before making recommendations. Great retail stores and staff. MVP program saves me $'s every time I purchase something. Great support for HOG even though I do not participate. Great support for charities. Strong presence in the community.

I don't purchase new vehicles anymore so I have never purchased a bike from them so can't speak to the sales experience but I know they move a lot of bikes.

Would recommend either dealership to a friend, and have done so.

The HD Store of Baltimore does great for selling bikes but NEVER, NEVER let the service department touch your bike.

Sounds too familiar. I hear this often, and have also experienced it a few times on the road. Too bad for the dealer ratings

Our dealer in Egypt sell bikes reasonable prices considering we have high import taxes. She improved her service level and tries to make people happy. I don't get that much along with her. On the after sales area, she misses things like a Dyno but her technicians are getting knowledgable more and more.

Many of the H-D owners in this area are split among two dealership families one supports Bayside Harley in Portsmouth and it's sister dealerships in North Carolina.
The other camp supports Hampton Roads Harley  and it's sister dealership Southside Harley in Virginia Beach Virginia.

I bought my three Harleys from Southside Harley and got good deals on purchase and the parts and service department has been great to me since 1997. I have never had a problem with them over the years and all of the personnel are friendly and helpful including motorclothes department. I would have to rate the dealership as an "A".

On the other hand I have had dealings with Bayside Harley and found them friendly and helpful, I didn't buy any bikes from them due to the fact that they sell off of their computer order list and CVO bikes get deposits on them quickly. I assume their pricing in sales is fair.their motorclothes department is pretty helpful.
I have had some "emergency" repairs and inspections done in their service department and found the service department to be good. So in my limited experience I would rate Bayside an "A" too.

My experience has been as long as I am spending $$ the service is good. And that is as good as it gets, downhill from there.

Woodstock HD Illinois has been great all the way around with me and my wife. My sister and husband buy their bikes here also even though they live in Scottsdale AZ. Better prices. All of my problems with the 07 SERK have been dealt with quickly. MOCO should be happy with them as if it were not for the excellent service it would be buy buy HD for good.      Billy

Owen's in Yakima.  Honest, friendly, MSRP and no set up fees.    To far away for me to use the Service Dept. so I can't rate them.
For service I use Downtown Harley, have had perfect service from them for over 20 years.  They are also HONEST and friendly.  A bunch of good folks doing a good job!
