Just got off the phone with a trusted dealer that I order parts from.

The new air cleaner cover does not mount flush to the air cleaner element. That's why they don't offer one. But you can still put one on with no problems. There are some discussions in this CUSE section about it, so you can check it out further. IMHO I would not go with the new SE element. They changed vendors, (it's not K&N), it's junk! Instead go with the Zippers or Doherty power pacc. You'll be much happier in the long run.

I suspect they just assume it fits.  The parts book does not tell you it doesn't fit 06 CVO CUSE. (That's part of the confusion I suspect)  HOWEVER, both boxes has it clearly stated on the label.  So HD knows but the dealer's don't... what else is new?  They must not read the boxes. [smiley=oops.gif]

I have not seen the gap that others speak of.  I guess you have some air getting around the filter.  So maybe you can check yours out to see if it is a problem.

Grover, will you have the same fitment issues with the other brands?  I guess another solution is to use a different cover...But then it wouldn't be a Screamin Eagle

The dealer wanted me to return it as they did not want responsibility for selling something that MOCO says does not fit!

Yes, they can make it work.  Make sure you get the chrome backplate kit 29510-05.

No.  But it's chrome and complements the bike nicely.  If you buy this part, you'll need a couple of other parts that most dealers would stock, and then you would not have to buy the kit.  I went with the Arlen Ness air filter element, which looks like it's made by K&N.

The backplate???  Yeah you can see it, not real visible but enough to notice.   The standard backplate stands out more on a black motor but on the silver motor it's not to visible.  But if ya gotta have chrome, then why not go for it.....
