Nostalgia Bike Pictures
« on: December 14, 2010, 01:22:50 PM »

Dont' think I've seen a thread in the Pictures section where we can post old time pictures of Harleys.  So, here we go.  Hope you like them and will post more.  I think these are very cool!

Here's my Uncle J.R. "Jay" Teffeteller in California, cir. 1954.

Here’s an old photo taken in the late 40’s or early 50’s from Dad’s collection. I don’t have specific info on the machine or the location.  The 45 cubic inch side-valve was a popular hillclimber in those days, and there were a lot of them around back then; many a compilation of several.

It appears that the idea of throwing your body under the machine to cushion the impact and minimize damage was practiced back then. The concept is that the body will heal, but the bike will stay wadded-up in the corner of the garage forever if you don’t have the money to put it back together.  ;D

Cool picture djkak.
I tried that a few times on a Gas Gas 250 and finally realized it was better suited to impact than I was.
