I pod died today

1899 miles on bike and I pod already died about 12hrs on it ,whats next

more information would be Appreciated .    sure its the IPOD?  not the interface?  what are the symptoms

sure its charging when plugged in? plug it into a PC with an IPOD cable for an hour or 2 and see if it turns back on

I think there is a "total reset" procedure..it's in the manual, that might 'fix' it.

I have an older Ipod nano that "dies" a lot. There is a reset procedure, although I haven't done it for awhile. I think you press and hold the round middle button and the arrow simultaneously until it indicates that it's going to reset...

If you are sure its the iPod, try this site: http://www.ipodhowtovideo.com/video/videoheadphonereplacement.html
for insructions on disasembly / repair.   All the parts including the flash drive can be replaced with a littl epatience.  I fixed my daughters pretty easily but you do need to take your time as all the parts are TINY. 

BTW,  you should only use an iPod touch or nano as those have flash drives.  Regular iPod has a hard drive which can be harmed by all the vibration on a bike.

plugged into computer ,trying the reset so far no luck will not even reconise I have it plugged in.Will try in a few more hours.Thanks for the info

Emailed the dealer twice,never heard back from them ,The owner of the dealership decided to hang up on me Tuesday after picking up the bike from the front tire issue,after they tried to charge me 1hr labor and I refused to pay,told me I can take it somewhere else ,and that I was an over the top customer and to picky.This is what I get from buying a $32,500 bike no service after the sale,Thank god for customers service at Harley Davidson ,Painted parts replaced ,new seat new front tire after they told me nothing was wrong with it,Saving all the work orders and e-mails,calling better business burrow and  also talking to a lawyer if they cant e-mail me or call me back.buy the bike from them and tells me to take it else where unbelievable.,I left the Ipod plugged in to computer all night  went to apples web site trouble shooting and was able to get it to turn back on,Do not know if it is charging Ipod up and the dealer will not call or e-mail to set an appointment,I will not be bullied ,I bought The bike from them and they can fix it.

Add this to the "RATE YOUR DEALER" thread....the bad dealers need to be exposed so, maybe, they will pull up their socks and step up to the plate. I'll be puting my story there as soon as I get it written out coherently.
