Info on LED Accent Lighting?
« on: December 24, 2010, 09:42:54 PM »

My wife says she might want some LED accent light pods installed on her Road King. I know some of you have them on your bikes from the pics. What brand are you guys using? How many lights? Anyone using the Electra Glo Light Pod Kit in the HD P@A catalog? They seemed a little pricey, are there some better light kits that cost less? Thanks for your insight. Sorry for all the questions. I never wanted any for myself so never really looked into them before. Just trying to keep her happy without breaking the bank!

There are all kind of options out there to chose from.
My recommendation is to send Jim (hd-dude on the site) a pm and ask him.
I'm not a led light kind of guy but Jim has a lot of experience with them and is great to work with.

Get 'em installed while you wait at any major bike rally........or    buy a kit from HD or one of the aftermarkets and install yourself.  Lots of difference in costs & quality.   spyder

I got mine from Twolane, he had some sitting in storage that he bought and never used so he put them on the site for sale... I'm glad he did because unbeknownst to me there are sometimes issues with the pods and the dealers can be difficult to deal with.

About four of mine melted or didn't work, the items were sold by LED Lights International and they have a lifetime warranty on all their products.

One that I installed almost melted away to almost nothing, I mounted it mid frame above the rear header and it couldn't handle the heat, company replaced it no questions asked!

Something that I did based on the obs of issues others had was that I ran the switch back into the tour pack so that it would not be exposed to any of the elements.

Here's the link for these guys... and all their stuff is 50% off!
