Frist Ride
« on: December 31, 2010, 11:48:02 AM »

:) :) I put my trust in a Owens Cycle out of Yakima. Don the salesman did me right, I call him for the bike he gave me a price I gave him some money
and a few day's  later it show up on my door step.

The bike show up looking just like Don told me it would, Very Nice Guy and the dealership is very good to work with.

But back to the Frist ride.  the bike has 6 miles on, it looks like i'm going to get a few nice days sunny days, but down around 30degs
What do you think breaking her in at these low temp's will the engine warm up enough to get the rings to seat :mango: :mango:
Thanks for the Help,  The bike is so nice you almost don't what to ride it it just nice to look at,

Outside temp won't affect break in.  Ride safe.

Nice ride, outside temp should not bother you, I would make sure she was good and warm before I hit the street, just my take on it.

WENT OUT got about 20 miles and i was going to turn around and head back home to change oil,
But i deciedee to go the HD shop... but i   Hit some ICE  put me the ditch, I had come to a stop and was puting my foot down But the the bike was on the up hill side of the ditch and by the time i got my foot on the the ground. i was way pass center and it jsut pitched me off
it looks like it got the front and the bottom of the bag, :'( I'm sure glad i call the insurace lady yesterday

This bike is smooth, with it being the same frame as my 2009 i would think they would ride the same NOT.. this bike is Very nice  the ride, the handling,
Not sure on the power only had her to 4000rmp :huepfenlol2:

Ohhh man.........that's not good.  I sure hope you're O.K.

When you mentioned 30F and concerned about breaking the bike in, as I was reading that, my thought was "I wouldn't be concerned about the rings seating but I'd sure be concerned about running into some ice in the shadows".

Looks like the damage to the bike is superficial and not sturtural so that's a good thing. :2vrolijk_21:

HOLY CRAP! I threw up a little just seeing the pic. I did not see that one coming. Glad you are OK and after my initial shock wore off it looks like the bike can be repaired without to much problem. I feel for you man. You seem to be taking it a lot better than I would have. Ride safe!

Wow, that sucks.

I moved to Texas from the northeast 16 years ago.  Ice is one thing I don't miss

:'(Hey, was this your first bike ride ever? 30 degrees means "ICE"! I know ice & motorcycles don't mix. I've been waiting for my 2011 FLHTCUSE for almost 6 months now & I sure wouldn't be riding my new Harley or my old Harley on a nite like that. I'd be  anxious to ride also, but there are plenty of better nites to ride than the 1 you picked.    >:(

From ectasy to agony in just 4 posts in this topic.   >:(   Like everyone has stated, hope you are ok and it looks like the bike can be easily fixed, may just take a month or two to get the painted parts.
