I'm not sure if its the same material but you can get clear protectors for palm pilots at any office supply store. I use them on my palm and they are very durable.

I had it installed on my F-350 HD, but have never bought the stuff myself.

Neal.....something to consider.....I'm not sure the stuff made for Palm Pilots comes off very easily or what it might do to the clear coat over a period of time.  However, the 3M product can be pulled off and it doesn't ruin the clear coat.

JC has a good point on the removal. I changed mine today and it is a bit tuff to get off. If you needed to a little heat would make the removal easier.

Neal,
I took my paint protector off the rear fender, and easy to do with a hairdryer. I was also told that if you place it on a mirror, or glass for when you need it again, it can be reapplied. I have yet to reappliy it. The dealer said that they can get those with no problem. Dont know if this will be much help to you, but never know.

The PDA cover is the one I changed today. They both stick pretty well though.

Used this on my FLHR and wife's FLHR on the front lower leading face of the saddlebags where all the rocks smack it. Great product, don't remember who actually makes it. Never came off while riding, only if I sprayed the water hose onto the edge. Goes on with water, peels off with no marks. Peel off, stick back on. I have some left and am going to put it on the seeg.

Riderwearhouse:"If you like having shiny paint but always ride hard, try this. The optically clear 7.5 mil thick polished vinyl works as a removable skin to protect your bikes painted finish. Goes on easily and cuts-to-fit wherever needed (under tank bags, etc...). Reusable over and over. Applies with only water and a squeegee. Flexible and durable wear and scratch protection. Includes instructions. Three 11" x 14
