« on: January 03, 2011, 09:45:59 PM »

just installed the boom audio bass boost kit in my FLTRUSE and am pretty please with the result only took a little over an hour and sounds good considering it still has the Electra Glide speakers in it .. hoping it will be even better once they install the correct rear speakers.. well worth the $50.00 investment  purchased from surdyke.com sorry bout the pic couldnt upload hi res file too big

Congrats on the addition.  :2vrolijk_21:  I definitely heard a difference with them installed.

Not sure if you are aware, and this may not be applicable to you, but check to see if you have a low frequency cut applied to your audio system.  There was a decent base increase with the ports installed, but once I got them to reprogram the amp with the correct frequency profile, the increase was substantial.

There are other threads in here that discuss this issue and you may not be able to change the frequency profile if you have the older amp installed.  I really should have taken better note of what bike you have this on.  I forget the #s too, but something like the standard profile cuts at 80Hz and I'm assuming that the new profile cuts at 60Hz, although I don't have any idea what the actual #s are.

Again, congratulations and enjoy the ride!

Thanx I do have the newer amp Last part of p#06B but factory installed thr wrong spkrs on thr tour pak nothing moves very fast over the xmas new year time with harley so hopefully tomorrow for the spkrs ... I did read some of the posts about the boost kit and was suprised at my install time in my cramped garage compared to the estimated 3 hours at the dealership I think they should do the reprogram for free with all the crap Ive had to put up with I know the program is free but they want to charge 46.00 for their time.. we'll see what happens

Wow, they actually want to charge you 1/2 hr labor to pull the seat, plug in a cable, and hit update?  It sounds better, but not worth $50.00.  I'd find a dealer willing to do the flash for free, or at least while your already in there for something else.

Makes me wonder if there is any way to get the software to do it ourselves.
