Water damage?  you did not Say what the bike sold for but in today's economy I think you could find a cvo bike with no damage for a great price.

Welcome to this site from Portland, Oregon - it's truely fantastic.  I'd like to echo LincolnUSA...there's plenty of screaming HD deals out there, especially in this economy.  Do some searching and I know you can find many bikes purchased in 2007 (if that's your target year) that are being given up because the owners have fallen on hard times.  Unless you're a good mechanic, or you're buying from a dealership who will put in writing that they'll "stand behind" the bike for a while, I'd keep doing some footwork.
