High Gas prices Maybe a Solution ??
« on: January 16, 2011, 06:25:22 AM »

Dear  All,

Here is an  interesting idea to think about (and act upon?)...
unless you've already received the same message  independently!

Please  see what you think and pass it on if you agree with it.

We are  hitting higher costs a gallon for gas in some areas now and soon we will be faced with paying more per gallon.

So I  was offered this good idea:

This  makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the 'don't buy gas on a certain day campaign' that was going around last April or May!

The oil companies  just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to hurt  ourselves by refusing to buy gasl.

It was more of an inconvenience  to us than it was a problem for them.

BUT, whoever thought of this  idea, has come up with a plan that can really  work.

Please  read it and join  in!

Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to  think that the cost of a gallon is CHEAP, we need to take aggressive action
to teach them that BUYERS - not sellers control the market  place.
With the price of gas going up more each day, we consumers  need to take action.
The only way we are going to see the price of  petrol come down is if we hit someone in the pocket by not purchasing  their gas!

And we can do that  WITHOUT hurting ourselves. Here's the  idea:

For  the rest of this year DON'T purchase ANY petrol from the two biggest oil companies.

If  they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices.
If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.
But to have an impact we need to reach literally millions of gas buyers.

It's really simple to do!!

Now,  don't wimp out on me at this point... keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I am sending  this note to a lot of people. If all of you send  it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)....and those 300 send it to at least  ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on.
By the time the  message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached  over THREE MILLION consumers!
If those three million get excited and  pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have  been contacted!

If it goes one level further, you guessed  it....THREE HUNDRED MILLION  PEOPLE!!!

Again,  all YOU have to do is send this to 10 people.
That's all (and not buy at the 2 x major gas stations).
How long would all that take?
If each of us sends  this email out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300  MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8  days!!!
Acting together we can make a difference.
If this makes sense  to you, please pass this message on.

PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY  LOWER THEIR PRICES ------- It's easy to make this happen.
Just forward this  email, and buy your gas at smaller independant gas stations. i.e. Boycott the top 2 x suppliers.

This email idea has been around for years. The idea would NOT work for various reason explained in this link:
http://www.snopes.com/politics/gasoline/gasout.asp

(Neither will "don't buy gas on a certain day etc."  type tactic work.)

Here's a better solution.  With any luck this too will get picked up and worthlessly passed around the Internet and will make me wealthy beyond Hogasm's wildest dreams (because I'm sure he can dream bigger than I can).  The "wealty" part will come from the five cents per posting that Microsoft will pay me (as an attribution fee) for every email sent.

Here's the plan:

Step 1) Convert cars and bikes to run on methane
Step 2) Everyone buy a cow
Step 3) When you park at night stick a pipe from car or bike up the cow's ass (watch for kicking, the first month or so she won't be used to this yet)
Step 4) Drive, drive, drive

As "Green" byproducts of this new imaginative, wonderful and "most excellent" (proper attribution to Messrs Bill and Ted) home fueling system you'll get your yard perpetually mowed, you'll have a steady supply of fertilizer and you'll get free milk.  Now, where's my Nobel?  Obama got one just for coming to work for a couple weeks.  This is way better.

Ok, so maybe I'm naive but anything I "think" I can do to keep money out of the hands of our sworn enemies I'm gonna do. For me here in the Northeast I buy my gas from http://www.urc.com/ 100% North American Crude  FWIW

A localized distribution network like that gives you an option most don't have.  The larger system isn't made that way.  Here, for example, a tank farm off the C42 pipeline from Oklahoma to Indianapolis and beyond is the supply point for everything in the area.  Tankers flying any company's flag all pick up there.

Man can't a guy dream....and a if a dream comes true, why not make it a whopper of a dream.

We have about 150 cows on the farm and I don't think even in your wildest dreams that you are going to stick a pipe up ones ass to retrieve methane gas. Why not keep them inside a closed/sealed building and filter out the methane gas :nixweiss:. Might cost a little more, but the savings in medical bills might be more. An insurance company would probably decline the "I was trying to stick a pipe up my cows ass when it kicked me in the nuggers and the bull speared my Nobel with his horns and shoved it up my azz"   :nervous:
