FNG from SW Florida

Hello all, have been riding an 84 FXRDG for a couple of days now....first Harley for me... also have a GW (84 Aspencade with trailer)....yea I like old iron, as it is all I can afford.  I got the DG purely by chance, the PO said it was an FXRP, but the vin says it was an FXRDG, anyway enough about that for now.  I live in Fort Myers Fl.  Retired from the US Navy in 89, bought a sailboat and headed south for the islands.... wellll got down to Fortmyers Beach and sorta stuck.  Have a small )business taking care of condos for the birds....will post some pics when I take some of the new ride....Looking forward to the interaction here, got lots to learn about HD, do my own wrenching,,, sooo the learning curve will be vertical for a while.  Since getting the scoot I have learned that my 84 FXRDG is a rare bird... I do know that it rides like I am on rr tracks when rolling down the twisties... (we have a few down here).....if any one has any questions.. feel free

Wow, you've got quite the international Welcome Wagon so far. 

Well, I want to welcome you from Portland, Oregon.  Home of the U of O Ducks that came Oh-so-close to being this year's NCAA Football National Champion. 

My 2009 CVO Fat Bob was my first H-D.  This site has been a lot of help.

What a nice way to wake up, thanks to all that welcomed me, especially from around the world, but also here in the USA.... My heritage is Scandinavian, my GGF was Swedish, my GGM was from Norway, Trisil, so when they fell in love, got married they had to go to America as their respective parents would not accept that they were from different countries, after all this was 1867....LOL  well times have sure changed.. My grandpa and Grandma ran the family farm in ND...til it was sold off in the 70's to pay medical bills...my grandpa was a fixit man, everyone in the area came to Gill to get stuff fixed, welded, mechanical, or electrical he did it all.. I got his genes...I too am a fixit kinda guy....one reason I bought the Harley... the Goldwing was boring... great to ride, but did not make any statement... and did not need me to fuss over it....the 84 vintage steel will need my attention, this is a good thing....
