Bright Ass Lights...Who Has One?
« on: January 29, 2011, 08:40:59 AM »

I saw one on display at Famous Mikes in Groton, CT last summer. A real attention getter. Anybody have one...and how do you like it?

I have one and love it. Sometimes get concerned people behind me do not love it because it is extremely bright, but at least I am seen. I also like that there are multiple choices of how the light comes on when brakes are activated, which you can set to really get cagers attention especilly with the quick strobe like initial flash.

Exactly! Since I commute on the Baltimore Beltway...being seen is a must.

I bought the BAL-1R (solid red lens version) after riding behind a buddy with the BAL-1; works as advertised.  I have the run light set to the intermediate brightness.  Here's a lengthy thread from HDForums.com with many testimonials and also references to other similar products.  Post #93 includes a brief video:

http://www.hdforums.com/forum/touring-models/322082-has-anyone-seen-bright-ass-lights-tail-lights-in-person-3.html

If I'm concerned about a cager at my rear, I touch the brake lever slightly just to engage the BAL's flash pattern a few times to get their attention--seems to work.

At $199 list the BAL isn't cheap, but it's a far better value than either HD's tour pak spoiler LED ($229.95 list) or HD's saddlebag spoiler LED ($199.95 list) products IMO.

Put the Bal-1 on my bike this week. It's very cool......

Aside from being one BrightAssLight I like the way the whiter LED light lights up the license plate.

I have the cop version with the 12 led's...I love it and while it is pricey you cannot put a price on protection

I installed the BAL-1 on my Dyna last week. Since we have about 2 1/2 feet of snow right now, I haven't ridden with it yet but it sure lights up the garage!

Same here...I have it on my 2010 CVO Street Glide (Tequila Sunrise, Canadian Version). My riding buddies told me that with the stock brake light, it was hard to see me when I braked due to the brightness of the paint, especially when the sun shone on the rear...with the 12 LED's version, flashing 3 times when I brake, they say that is no longer a problem!!! ;)

Expensive? Yes...Worth it?...Yes to me...people are doing all sorts of crazy things in their car while driving...I'm going to make sure you see me when I brake!!!

Now I saw in their website they have 3 different model Bal-1 ,2 or 3. they all seem to have the same footprint, however I want to make sure the one I buy will fit the footprint of the existing stock light.
