I need to get with the chrome consultant and he's out until Tuesday.  I guess it depends on when they can get the components in, installed, and get the dyno work done.

Well, I finally got to see the bike in the sun.  We moved the bike around, tried to get different angles, and I just didn't see the purple coming through on this one.  It all looked like blue metal flake in the black (or dark) paint.  At a distance the Twilight Blue looks black and the bike would look great if it was just Black and Candy Cobalt, but when you walk around the bike in the sun, it appears like thousands of little blue fire flys lighting up in that black paint.  Forget the twelve step program and any vows that I've made to stop trading bikes because I've decided that I must have this one.  Some of you wanted more photos, so here are the ones that I took today.  I don't think that the photos do the bike justice, but here they are.

Congrats on the new ride! Thanks for sharing the pictures. I agree, it would look great if it was Black and Candy Cobalt. Do you have any closeup pictures of the darker shade with the blue fire flys in the sun? I'm still debating  between the Blue or the Red...I felt it might have one too many fire flys in the darker blue, but then again, maybe not much so....

It's not a bass boat kind of sparkle if you know what I mean.  The bike has to be in the sunlight and you have to be close to pick up the metal flake.  From any distance of maybe 10' or more the bike really looks like black and candy cobalt blue.  There are some pictures earlier in this thread that were made indoors and the metal flake shows up in the camera flash.  Go back earlier in the thread and look for those shots.  You should find some where the metal flake shows through.

They had the red and blue versions sitting side by side in Conrad's H.D. (Joliet, Il)

I perfered the blue but both are very nice. Very overcast and bad lighting inside so no pics.

Saw the new blue one at the local dealership (Heart of Dixie, Pelham, AL), a couple of days ago.  I think it looks great, even though blue has never been one of my favorite colors, this one resembles the '04 SEEG enough that I think it looks classy.  There is not too much metalflake in the dark color...just enough IMO.  It is a very nice looking bike.  If anyone is looking for one, Heart of Dixie is now an MSRP dealer...ask for Mike in sales.  They have a different GM now, and SEEM to be more customer service oriented than they used to be, even in the service dept.  I was also able to get them to knock off the "dealer prep" charge on my RG.

I know what you mean about the bass boat sparkle.  Is the size of metallic in the Twilight Blue similar in scale as the Black Ember? Still debating blue or red...

Hopefully you'll get some input from someone that has seen both.  I assume that the metal flake in the Black Ember would be similar to that in the Twilight Blue.

I'm sort of surprised a minute detail like that would even be a consideration.  Do you like blue or red bikes better? :confused5: :nixweiss:

I really like both, .... if the twilight blue had less metallic in it I'd consider the blue....I guess you can't have it all... :huepfenlol2: I really need to find a dealer with the bike to see in the flesh.

Most of the time you are going to look at this bike and just see cobalt blue and black.  As you can see in the photo below, you get a glimmer of metal flake in the tour pack, but unless you're in the sun and close, you see blue and black.
