IMO there have been too many CVOs that are just not obviously CVO bikes.  They are probably much more obvious to anyone that spends time cruising this site, but when you put up the dough for a CVO, I think that you want it to have enough sizzle so that it doesn't have to be studied to realize that it's something different than the average bike.  The Street Glides this year are great looking bikes.  I think that this Ultra Classic has potential to be an eye catcher.  I look forward to seeing one in person.

Thanks crazybob for posting the photos!  Are those shots from the dealer show or has the bike already landed at a dealer location?

I just noticed that no highway pegs are on the bike as it is shown at the dealership in crazybob's photos.  The Harley graphics do show the pegs, so I wonder if the dealer just failed to install them?  I could also imagine that they'll wait and install them so that they are set up for the proud owner.

I don't see the iPod listed as an accessory with the CVO Ultra Classics.  Did they come with the Rio Red units?  Since they are included with the CVO Street Glides and CVO Road Glides, you'd think that they would be included with the Ultra Classics too.

The ipod is not envisaged on this CVO.

And it is not possible to install the element by afterwards, at least on the Européen model.  :soapbox:
I use my ipod with the catch AUX car radio and that go too. :cherry:

The passenger floor boards are there! Also an ipod is not an accessory on the Ultra Classic. You can add one for a fair price. I didn't !

The iPod hook up does not come on the 2011 cvo ultra but can be added as my business partner had it added to his reo red by the local Harley dealer. I know it was not a plug and play but can be done. Works the same now as the flhxse2

He's talking about the highway pegs that are supposed to be mounted to the crash bar.

Good eye, Preston!  Those aren't dealer installed, though.  The factory's supposed to put them on there!  Yet another omission/error as a result of these bikes going from their own assembly line to the regular production line!  Unbelievable!

I looked at a red 2011 a month ago that was sitting there ready to be delivered.  It was missing the cloisonne that's supposed to be mounted to the rear fender.  Not sure how that could have been missed!  There a flat formed into the fender where it mounts.  Did all the people that would have had a chance to see that bike before it shipped seriously think they're all like that?

Anyone getting a new CVO better check 'em out real close!! :soapbox:

Dealer can or can not mount them. The bike at Brians just came out of the box on Friday night. They put it out right away as they were having a bike show on Saturday. Only thing done was it was wiped down. All CVO Ultras come with highway pegs, cover, headset, door opener and anything else included in the tourpak. How does the dealer or factory know where you want the pegs mounted or if you even want them on? Maybe you need the adjustable ones? Why take a chance to scratch someting til you know where it goes?

Thanks for the correction about the pegs coming in the TP, though I think most, if not all, of the ones I've seen on the floor already have them mounted.  Maybe that dealer's one of a few who actually wait to see where they need to be mounted to fit the new owner.

A Customer Dealer will wait until the bike is sold and mount the Highway Pegs to the Owners proper leg length and comfort.

I think that I'd just want the highway pegs mounted once, so I could agree with the dealer mounting them for the specific new owner.  No sense in having two sets of scratches on the new crash bars (engine guards).

In regard to items not being installed - when I purchased my '09 CVO Fat Bob, the spoiler that looks like a small gray barrel between the forward controls was not on the bike.  The salesman initially told me that there was nothing missing, so I had him pull a brochure and had to show him a photo with the spoiler.  After providing him with some education, he went to the parts department and they found the item and got it installed on the bike.  The bike had been on the floor in the dealership for months without anyone ever pointing out the missing item.

Don't need to add an iPod since the 660 has a built in MP3 player.  Just add a mini SD card, stereo patch cable and you're ready to go.

The bike at Brians just came out of the box on Friday night.

What box?  All of the bikes being delivered at my local dealer are shipped w/o the shipping carton previously used.  They're now shipped on a black pallet and some stick-on paint protection film (as seen on autos during shipping).  Can't recall a CVO being delivered on the two occasions I've seen them come off the trailer, but I've seen plenty of other models, including Touring models, delivered w/o the box.

I like the Twilight/cobalt colors (as these were the colors on my my '08 SERK), but for some reason the combination in this paint scheme fails to excite me.  Even though it is "flashier" than the titanium/riptide on my bike, I prefer mine.  More subtle maybe and a better contrast between the colors.  Also, I think if the pinstripes outlining the flames on the new bike were done in silver, it would look better.  Oh, well.... I love my machine and riding season is getting closer by the day... :orange:
