Nice thread and great looking bikes, both colors. We saw the blue one on London KY last week and my buddy nice bike but I'm not a blue guy. He rides a red merlot somethinoerother 103 limited.

That thought of the moco that is is fine to be all over the place with color is standard procedure for those wishing to dodge responsibility and it sucks. Reminds me a windshield that I put on the wife's bike last week that said you could not remove the plastic and still return the item and then said to look at arms length for three to five seconds to check for defects.LOL There is no way you even see the shield with plastic wrap on. They also stated that if any defect requires longer scrutiny then it is not a defect. :o

About the dyno of a new motor?? I heard one tech winding the ever-lovin-chit outta a v-rod I'm glad that wasn't my new bike. My dealer said he did an 80% tune on my new piston/cam kit i9nstalling a basic know map to make sure there were no lean issues and after 500 miles he'd pour it to it for the final tune. Makes sense to me.

Enjoy them sparkly bikes mates.

NOW this pic is the side of the saddle bag.  Notice hardly any flake.  The Harley rep said that there are THREE different companies that paint for Harley and it could be possible that they have different paint mixtures and different processes...

I saw this bike with wiseasp..I can assure you that the paint does not match at all. The dealer contacted CVO and was told if you can not see a paint defect from 3ft away it does not fall under warranty, and to top it off if you have a paint defect that is smaller than a 1 inch circle it will not be covered by warranty. Now CVO stated that there are 3 companies that make there paint like wiseasp said and a lot of times the bike will be painted with all 3 companies paint and there is a good chance it will not match do to different paint process. That's just the nature of the beast was there comment.

This is so disappointing for a $36,000 bike. I am not knocking anybody that buys it or likes it just stating facts that since the CVO is not hand built any more the quality control is just not there. I bought a 2011 CVO black/orange street glide and there was 1 defect in the paint also. Thank god it was taken care of since it was a small piece. While installing a new Paul Yaffe tag mount I found a nice size scratch behind the stock tag mount. Again this is just not what I expect from a CVO. By the way I still have a deposit on a blue/black cvo ultra at my dealer and I am hoping that it shows up different. Just thought I would give my .02...

I don't have time to post the photos now, but I did a little comparison with the digital camera using the flash out in the garage.  All of my metal flake is the same color and all blue, but I did notice that the paint on the tour pack and saddle bags seems to have a higher concentration of metal flake.  The front fairing, front fender, and tank seem to have a lower concentration of metal flake.  I know that some folks report the red bikes to be faster, but I think that the torque and quick starts on my bike are forcing more of the metal flake toward the rear of the bike.  I may try a few sudden stops to see if I can get the metal flake redistributed and spread more evenly.

The color seems to be consistant, so I'm not picking up the purple hues, all blue.  I looked the bike over closely in the sun before I made the purchase and just don't see any mismatch in my colors.  I haven't had a chance to get the bike back out in the sun.  It is supposed to be sunny on Saturday, so I may experiment with a mirror to concentrate sunlight on different areas of the bike.  I'll plan to report later and I'll let you know if the plan above results in better distribution of the metal flake.  I'll also report on the results of using the mirror in the sunlight.  I may also try smoke and mirrors to see if they reveal anything new on the paint.

Just taking a picture with the camera flash is hard to get  a true color off the bikes
Out in the sun you get reflation, you do have a high quality paint job, the nice thing about it the paint don't match, Then you have one of a kind :D
I would call that a Custom paint Job :o

I'm not a painter, but assume these were painted by a real person? I've heard from painters, there is a technic to spraying metallic paint so it will lay on correct.... just a thought. Hope yours turn out good :mango:

We had sunshine and temps in the low 70s today.  I enjoyed a ride on the new CUSE and really looked it over closely on several stops along the way.  I had different angles with the sun hitting different surfaces, but all I saw was blue metal flake shining through on the dark paint.  I would say that there might be some inconsistency on the concentration of metal flake in some of the surfaces, but I didn't try counting the TPSI (Twinkles Per Square Inch).  The reactions to the bike have been great, gorgeous, beautiful, outstanding, fantastic, wonderful, awesome, killer good looking, breath taking, and that was just from me.  My riding buddies seem to like it too!  I don't see any mismatch in color on my bike, but because of what has been reported here, it can't hurt to be cautious when preparing to purchase.  I wish everyone considering one of these bikes the best and hope that you enjoy yours as much as I'm enjoying mine!!!

I wanted to post a shot of the bike on my driveway.  It really looks a lot better here than it did at the dealership!
