So we're sitting around on a boring Saturday morning tossing around ideas. One of the more "interesting" thoughts was blending some LED colors on the LCD light board. LED's are only available in a pretty limited number of colors, and we pretty much offer all of them.

So now for something different....Purple...available now

I like the purple display color also! I can't see the OEM display on my 09SEUC. Let us know when you decide to offer purple. I saw another post you had with some other colors. I first thought I would want blue but after seeing that picture I could not see the numbers very well. What would the price point be?

The blue on the web site does not do justice to the text contrast. Because of the UV coating on the lens, the pics do not come out all that well. I can assure you the blue is pretty easy to read.

Purple will be available next week. we're just working out some issues, but nothing big.
Because purple is a blend of colors, and we cannot blend the button LEDs, the buttons will be done in white.

We're going to offer a discount to CVO members, so we'll post it in the vender discount section in a day or two.

Thanks ICA thats good to know about the photos of the blue backlight contrast not showing up well. Easy to read is what I need so I may stick with your blue color. If I get blue will the buttons also be blue? I couldn't even tell that they had lights in them with the OEM red. I don't know what other mods my radio may need will need your advise. I didn't think you could get a better avatar than the one you had the other week "bouncing grey top"... BUT I was WRONG!!!!! I keep looking and hoping for a "wardrobe mishap"...  Good job Ghost_Rider!

If you get the blue backlight, the buttons will also be blue.

Our update and mods program is valid on all radios 06-11. We basically strip down the unit and add additional liquid protection and rework some of the circuits and connectors we know can become a problem over time. Makes the unit much more reliable long-term.
