Saddlebag Extensions
« on: February 05, 2011, 10:46:36 PM »

When adding the Saddlebag extensions that bolt on is the seam real noticable? Would like to add these on black bags, didn't want to fiberglass and paint the complete bags. Anyone have some good pics of this addition/   Thank's Lee

yes.. they actually overlap the bottom of the bag.

You can buy HD's extended bags color matched as well.

They looked nice and solid. If we get enough interest we might have to try a group buy.

They look a little cheesy........like something that came out of Pep Boys.  Why would somebody conside these over true streatched bags that are painted to match?  You get the added room for storage, not quite so tacky looking and you can sell the take off bags to help off set the cost of the new bags. :nixweiss:

I had the harley ones on my old RG, very easy to install.  There is no seam, they overlap....sorry no pictures, sold it before i was able to take any.  They look great!  I would put a set on my FLHTCUSE but they cover part of the flame graphics on the back part of the bag.  I struggle with how I would paint them....crimson mist black, or the slate color.  Either way, i thought it would look cheezy cutting the graphics short.  Same thing with the chrome ones that are shown.  They will work well with solid color bags.

NOW, IF ANYONE KNOWS OF A WAY TO GET THE EXTENTIONS PAINTED TO MATCH THE GRAPHICS....PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!

Just get the bag itself.....you can use your lids and hardware.
