no didn't yet as I got the 58 manifold and have to check if the Ventilator will fit first. As of last year only one SE-A/C (no K&N filter element availiable for) did fit with the bigger manifold.

09 SE Road Glide, 10 & 11 SE Street Glide. :2vrolijk_21:

JCZ:

To be real clear, this is the long awaited K&N replacement air cleaner filter for the STOCK one on the CVO 110 motors right?

I hope so since I ordered one and then had second thoughts that it might be the wrong one.

Regards

Jerry

Yes, several 09 SE Road Glide (same air cleaner as ours) owners have already installed it.  One report says he had a problem with installing it......said it dowsn't fit properly and squishes the filter down (not sure if he's over tightening).  The other had it installed but reports that it fits fine.

Personal experience......this is one screw that you don't want to skip the locktite, however tight or loose you put it.......it's a strange feeling flying down the freeway and all of a sudden you feel a part of your bike bouncing back and forth between your inner lower leg and your bike.  Similar feeling to back in the 80s when I was coming to a stop on my stipped down hot rod Heritage with ape hangers........all of a sudden the two hand grips were seperate from each other and while one was still controlling the front end (barely) the other one was hanging solely from my hand, danglingly freely.  Just gives you a real kreepy feeling.  The moral of that story......always use a one piece top clamp on the triple trees! :2vrolijk_21:

Anyway, looking forward to a report from you SE Street Glide owners on this filter install.  I've still got a couple new filters on the shelf to go through before we cross over.

I won't have mine for a week or so but will let you know how it performs. I am guessing maybe a little more umph and some increased fuel economy.

Thanks for responding!!

Got mine Thursday from my dealer & put it on last night....I ended up kinking 2 lines of mesh, good thing it's down front where nobody will notice...not sure if it happened when I was trying to get the chrome oval cover over the new filter or if it happened when I put the bolt in...but it probably happened trying to squeeze the filter into the cover, it seems like it's a touch bigger around than the stock filter & didn't really fit inside the cover as well. But everything should be fine...

Mine had a bit of a tight fit with the cover too. I just took a little WD40 and wiped it around the edge of the filter where it was going into the cover. Then the filter edge popped into the cover and all was good. The filter is definitely a tiny bit bigger.

They have very poor quality control. When you try to install it kinks the filter as it is larger than the cover, no way you can overtighten it if it fit correctly. HDDOC on this site returned his because it wouldn't fit, I used a bench grinder and carefully "recurved" the ends to make it fit.
Dealer where I bought mine had several returned, they do not fit "out of the box" but very easy to make them fit. WD40 may have made the guys above fit, not mine, it was incorrectly shaped on both ends.

I used a little oil residue from the throttlebody/puke tube and rubbed it on the rubber seal then I carefully tightened it down until the cover slipped over the edge of the rubber seal.  No problems. It works well and the "burn" at the exhaust tips seems to be just a tad leaner than the stock filter.

I'm happy since in addition to the performance improvement, this fiter will keep the rain water out without the "sock".

Regards

Jerry
