it seems like everyone is looking for some bag or somthing to be able to carry small things, glasses, earplugs, gloves etc.  I'm still looking as well.  The best i've seen so far was someone had a windshield bag rigged on the rear fender rails(strut thingys).  They have swingarm bags but I'm not ready to cover up that much real estate.  good luck, i'm still looking...

These are nice. Have one on the wide Glide and on the Deuce. Always generates interest and compliments. You can carry a small pair of glasses or sunglasses, some paperwork and a bit of $. If you decide to get one, let me know. I have a nice mod for them.

Check out this tool box, in chrome or black, right and or left side.

I have not seen one on a bike yet, but I am thinking about adding one, perhaps two to my 08.

OK... I'll bite... what is the mod you are referring to?  I am thinking about picking one of these up just for a good place to carry reg/insurance/inspection etc.

I have the chrome tool box that Brian mentions in his post.  I only have one on the left and is great for storing the reg and insurance card and once in awhile my wallet if I don't want to carry it around all day.  It locks and seems pretty water resistant, although I don't ride much in the rain. Looks good on the bike and doesn't detract from the cool look of the bike.  It was a snap to install.  Hope his helps.

I recall the same page (256) in the catalog they offer a liner/bag for use with the tool box.

mavricktoo: do you have a picture of it on your bike to share with us?

Just ordered a Garage Leathers solo swing arm bag for my 08 springer. Hope to have it on sometime next week. I bought the BL1009B bag from off their website.  Cost $225 plus shipping.  Got tired of having overstuffed pockets.  Fits on lefthand side of swing arm and will carry all my necessities. Will post photos when installed.

Been running that Nostalgia Harley toolbox for years with the zippered liner.  Keeps everything nice & dry and locks, but I'm pretty sure that anyone with the key can prolly open anyone else's box.  Still great storage and a lot of chrome that's held up well over the years.  spyder

spydglide:  It appears to lock with a "high security" type key like the Springer's ignition switch and fork lock.

I wonder if it a lock smith could "re-key" it the same as the bike's key -- would save one from carrying multiple keys.

The newer ones must be different, mine uses a little forked spade type key and just eyeballing them, they all appear to be the same.  It's good if they upgraded the lock.  If I remember, they are not all that expensive and hold a surprising amt. of tools or what-ever.  I like the form-fitted teardrop zipper case that fits inside....it makes it a lot easier putting things in and out w/o dropping everything on the ground when you open the 'door'.  spyder
