Flaking Chrome on my '08 SEUC
« on: February 07, 2011, 12:38:18 AM »

Today I was washing my '08 SEUC and discovered that the chrome is flaking off of the rear brake foot lever and underneath the pedal, also it appears that the same is starting to happen to the chrome rear view mirrors. This bike has been stored in a garage
and washed regularly yet, the chrome is barely lasting 3 years. WTF?  :'(

Hey John,

Had my rear brake lever replaced under warranty for peaking chrome.   Do you have the extended warranty?  Even if not go see your dealer and see if they will help.   Hope you're good otherwise.

Extended warranty will not cover flaking chrome... but do go see your dealer there are ways he/she can take care of you.

Hi John

I had my rear brake lever replaced also, and I think Miker had his mirrors replace. You are not alone, I think it has to do with living close to the ocean. I do agree, for me it's two years and the chrome is starting to lose it's shine so to speak.

yupper, mirrors, even the replacement mirror had to be replaced because it came peeling..

I told the dealer and area rep "I dont care if it takes every piecr of chrome in China, you will get me another"

Maybe thats why they would not cover the entire comp sproket assembly only part...how does that work anyways, partial assembly replacement?  Bastiges...dont get me started on the brakes...Doctor said to stay relaxed and calm..
