Hi,

Where have you got those chrome plated motor block covers or are the replacements for normal painted motor blocks? I'm just wondering if it is possible to get those for my 110" '09 FXDFSE.

Only reason I haven't done the same is I don't want to shield in the heat.  Bas!ard gets hot enough as-is.

It won't.  there is a gap between the cover and the starter.  Besides its not the starter thats getting hot, its your engine and exhaust pipe.  If anything, It might shield the starter from the heat.

Trust me, you can get carried away with this stuff. I had always removed and plated any parts I wanted chromed until my current ride and having never done it, I started out with a few items form Kuryakyn like the inner primary cover etc. Before I was finished, I'd put everything they make for the Road Glide on the bike. I like it because it's different, It reminds me of the big old chrome sleds that the H-D dresser guys ran in the 50's and 60's. Something new after 40 something years of riding and more bikes than I can remember. The caveat however is that once you get started you won't quit til you've done it all. It's a different look for sure, some like it, some hate it. Me -- - - it's my ride, I'll do what pleases me and it pleases me. The nice thing about Kuryakyn is that their parts fit nicely. You don't find yourself getting the Dremel out unless you try to mix H-D and Kuryakyn in the same area. Good luck and remember, chrome won't get you home, but it sure is pretty

I agree.  I put over $20 K in my previous bike so that is why I went with a CVO.  I did want to cover up that ugly black starter on that good looking CVO engine.  Other then that, just a couple pieces, mostly performance.
