Cardo Scala Rider G4 - which open face helmet easiest to fit to?
« on: February 13, 2011, 08:02:01 AM »

Hi

I've just got G4 powerset and fitting to our current Schuberth J1's looks a bit difficult - don't really want to attach to the chin bar as we do take that on and off.

Any views on how to attach to a J1 or which is the best/easiest open face helmet to fit to?

I do not understand what you mean, you just fasten the unit to the solid part of the helmet behind the chin bar and then it stays with the helmet, not the chin bar when raised or removed. The boom will reach your mouth regardless.
Not sure this helps

Have you got a Schuberth J1?

I have mine mounted on the Scorpion Ex-100 (half helmet). The only thing I didn't like about the mounting on this helmet was that I had to use the permenant tape mount instead of the clamp mount. It works real slick though, and the speakers/wires tuck away nice and clean.

Thanks

It seems the only way is to mount with the self adhesive mount, but to but another layer of 3m tape on the helmet to bring it upto the plastic trim around the Schuberth J1.

Thanks for you help

2nd picture

This is where we have our cardos on our HJC helmets which have the flip up into a 3/4 helmet.

It can be mounted where you show, however, it seems best to put a layer of 3m double sided tape down first to equalise the helmet surface to the rubber edging.

Thanks
