Installing George Anderson Tour Pack Relocator Today
« on: February 18, 2011, 10:58:14 AM »

My rider needs some extra room. Purchased the relocator kit from George and found him to be worthy of all the praises he gets on here. Going to install the kit today. A bit reluctant to go with the full 2.5" move and am thinking to try 1.5" first. Any advice on this? Thanks, Ed

Go the full distance.  You will need to stretch out a few wires a little bit.  Your S.O.will love the extra room.  My wife loves it!

You can always move it ahead a bit next season an convince your S.O that she's gained some weight!

Go the full distance. Unless your passenger is very small, she'll appreciate the full distance. It will make very little impact on the bike's balance. Have ridden many miles 2-up with the full 2.5" used on the relocator kit.

Interestingly, George recommends using the first 1" notch since it gives a lot of extra room. He recommends only going the full 2" if the BSR really really needs it. George's $0.02.

Went all the way back on mine. Wanted all the room possible, was the correct choice for me and my BSR.

1.5 works great for us. Start in any location, as it is only a 10 minute job to change.

As I've said before, I have the wrenching skills of a monkey f-ing a football and I've installed 3 of George' kits.  He's a great guy to talk too.

One of the best upgrades you can do.  My wife is tiny and still enjoys the 2 1/2" of extra room for her legs to stretch out a little farther.

They are all correct. Once you have the few tools you'll need, it's ten minutes. Including prep ( pulling out the liner, lengthening the wire looms into the tourpak, etc. I think the wife held the tourpak tilted up and forward for about two minutes from last bolt off the original bracket to first bolt on George's bracket. Easy Squeezy.
