Considering a wifi intercom system and any help/suggestions/experience would be welcome - so don't be shy!!

Only need it for pillion communication (particularly sice fitting D&D Fat Cat without the quiet baffle) and music via iPod.

Never been down this route before, so have absolutely no experience of intercom systems, but the BT2 (Midland, Alan or whatever!) looks cool.

I use the SCALA RIDER Scala Rider Teamset Pro, Voice activation and each person can BT sync with their own phone to listen to music or make calls in private.

Many thanks for that duranh. Do you ride with an open face helmet? I wondered if there was also much wind noise/interference?

I actually use a full face but they have and open face mike cover for it as well that is supposed to block wind noise but I am not sure how good it is. For me I called my wife @ 95MPH and she was surprised that I was on the bike. Cyclegear has a very loose return policy so buy it and if it does not work out you can return it. The one that I mentioned comes with two headsets that are already paired so you just need to sync your phone to it, and assuming that your phone has music capabilities you should be good to go. I actually sync mine to the GPS and then my phone is synced with the GPS as well and it acts like a BT hub. This is the slick setup.

I tried using the corded setup that comes with the Ultra's but my wife knocked her cord out of her helmet and it was dragging on the ground for about 5 miles of twisties,

That set up sure sounds slick! But way too complicated for me. Don't use a GPS - which is (a) why we get lost; and (b) why we have so much fun!

I didn't like the sound of a corded set up and now I know why - death would need to be r-e-a-l-l-y slow and painful for chipping paint on a bag!!

I have been struggling with that too!  I was on the phone with Cardo for an hour yesterday.  I wear a half helmet, and when i have the choice, I don't wear one at all.  They are coming out with a new system shortly that will be a lot more convenient for those options.  Right now, the only thing they have is a optional bracket that fastens to the strap of a half helmut.  Somewhere someone has to offer a better system.  LG makes a bluetooth headset for music and cell phones that the reciever goes like a horseshoe around your neck, and it has earbuds on wires that magnetically attach to the base when its not in use, that you place in your ear....really cool!  The only problem it there is no transmit ability to communicate unit to unit.  Someone has to come out with a more practical system thats lighter and offers an option for the half helmets, beanies, or no helmet rider?

There is always the Throat mic options out there, I don't know what you do with the speakers though some research is needed for that option.

Scala is good stuff. We use Nolan n102 helmets with n-com system. Works real good and is built in. A little pricey though.
