No, really. Changed from the S&S box:

To the Torque Tubes:

This is my actual graph (when the engine was 104 inches) when I changed mine:

At 3400 rpm it gained 11 HP and 17 ft-lbs...

who cares?  :nixweiss: Unless you are racing, you're just chasing numbers.  All that really matters is how it feels when you ride it.

Exactly.  I've seen and heard of dyno sheets boasting more HP than my Ol' Led-Sled, but they couldn't get the job done out on the Highway.  ;) Later-HUBBARD

The human between the seat and the handlebars matters a lot too.

We had quite a bit of discussion at the dealership about performance numbers and street drivability before I started my hop up. I wanted it all with low end and high rpm hp. We did the kit with the 259e cam and the 10.5:1 pistons and I got my dyno report the other day but have not picked the bike up. I like the idea of having nice numbers but agree that the feeling in the pants or the time at the strip are the better indicators of performance gains.

I also think that numbers should positively correlate with driving impressions. ::)

Now flush text as newbie garbage. :worthless: :)

a dyno sheet  is important  it indicates the performance parts you bought are doing what is advertised and you PAID FOR!!!!!,   And the combined  financial and  personal sweat effort,  And end results desired,    then ride/burn  the wheels off and enjoy the tune .

A dyno sheet is a good tool for comparing your motor's performance before and after mods. Riding the scoot is a better way of comparing tho.

Comparing your dyno sheet other dyno sheets is a pretty good way to make you spend money.  Been there, done that, got a t-shirt.

Every time you open the throttle, you ARE riding the dyno sheet. If you are the blue lines and your friend is the red lines, how do you reckon it's gonna play out?

1/2  I'll email you a copy of my dyno sheet if you want to take it for a test ride.  :2vrolijk_21: Just messing with ya. Ride safe.

Couple thoughts.  First, since a stock 110 was good for about 80 hp and 95 ft-lb, your numbers look reasonable for a muffler change and SERT.  Second, if your dealer runs his "free dyno run" promotion like many of them do, that one run is not going to accurately reflect your true numbers.  The reason for that is that the bike (entire drivetrain) has to be up to full operating temps for accurate readings, and one run won't do the trick.  The reason some places do the one run promotion is to convince you your numbers are low and you need them to tune the bike.  Then, even if they do nothing at all they can show (after you pay for a tune) an improvement just by making several runs to get everything up to temp.  I'm not saying that is the case with your dealer, but just letting you know that the scams are out there.

Dyno numbers aren't terribly important in the overall scheme of things.  Are you satisfied with how the bike runs considering how you ride?  If the bike meets your needs and makes you happy, save your money.  Once you start on the "more power" trail, it can become a slippery slope indeed.

:tekst-toppie: You are correct. I couldn't have said it better myself. You know this business. Chasin ponies can be expensive. Ask me how I know. When you start chasin ponies, your wallet will suffer and you're playin the dealership's game. They know how addictive this hobbie can be. They got me chasin ponies, but it is fun... 131fun that is..  :smilie_staub:
