Getting back in the saddle.
« on: February 25, 2011, 01:10:03 PM »

Well, it doesn't look as if I'm gonna get the Blue Bullet back anytime soon. And I have plans to join a M.M. this summer. Or just wing it on my own for the Lord! But I've found a new ride in Austin. I haven't picked it up yet, But I have a plane ticket to Austin one way for the morning of March 4. I haven't ridden since the accident, Jan. 16 that took the life of my wife. I start crying just to think of how emotional a ride it's going to be. Not to have her on my right wing coming up through the Texas hill country to Fritch, Tx. I'm just going to crwl back in the saddle and head North, Stopping when I need to. There will be many stops to dry the tears but I'll have my God to light my path. Pray for me March 4-6 . I love my God more than anything. Pray for me to come full circle and come to terms with the loss of my soulmate. No-one, nor anything can ever replace Marie. But hopefully, the Roadking will give me something to hold on to.
 Isaiah 43:1-2
"Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. [2] When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.
Bob Seger.......
I'll be out on the road if you'll just wait for me.

1Man,  I have lost more than my share of great people and know it is hard.  I had one sibling, a brother who was taken suddenly so I have some idea of your pain (some).  I hope that you can take some solace in knowing you had (and in many ways still have) a soul mate.  Good luck to you!  Ride safe.

Thanks y'all. I still have my reservations for MV in sept. And if I don't have my CVO back by then, I'll just load up on the King. But I really like the Appalacians.

1man.
Good to hear you are not giving up riding. Both Marie and God will be with you on your ride home.
Just take your time and don't push it. ( both for the ride and healing. )

1Man, I know it is difficult but remember that this is just a temporary seperation when we lose a loved one. We that believe and trust in the Lord will be reunited with our loved ones when our turn to leave this earthly home happens.  We are just visitors here in this world with a temporary visa and I know it is painful to have lost a soulmate but try to think of it as if she has only taken an earlier flight than you.  You will catch up again.  God bless you and remember that you are not alone as long as you have your brothers and sisters in Christ.  My prayers go with you my friend.

Thanks for the kind words y'all. My faith is strong because I stay in the word. My music is the praise of my lord. Really, I am blessed. And I'm selfish only in that I miss her being here. But I've got to put my face in the wind.

Look forward to seeing you in MV. Was really hoping you would be up and back on your scoot by then. Never let life pass you by, as you can never replace a lost day.
