Don,
As I understand it, there were 1550 2000 FLHRSEI's made. The exact breakdown between the B/W/O and the R/M/B I'm not sure but there's a few more of one than the other. IN any event, let's say there's 775 of each. Harley-Davidson Mfgrs and sells what - - something over 200,000 units per year ? It's already been 11 years since these orginal CVO's were built. I'd be willing to bet a decent steak that there's fewer than 1000 of them that haven't been trashed, cut up, changed beyond restoration etc etc. In another 15 years - - like I said, who knows. The thing is that the 2000 FLHRSEI was also the 1st OEM 95" motor. That it only stayed in production a few years is a bonus for making these collector vehicles. Add to that the things that Lou mentions (expecially the Shark Fin exhaust tips) and as you know because you own one they were the last year the factory stereo was a casssette player.

As for the rest of what you're saying, in 2025 they'll certainly look b!tchin' sitting in the Barber Motorsports Museum or Wheels Through Time, but I seriously doubt my '00 B/O/W SERG will be a '70 Hemi Challenger R/T convertible reincarnated 15 years from now.

You know what would make me really happy? If in 2025 my old red SERG were up on the lift as I spent the winter after my 66th birthday putting it all back together because the old girl had been just worn out.  Just run until she finally limped home from miles and years but was eager to start over again.  Just like the red 05 had been a winter or two or three before :2vrolijk_21: .

So there were even few than I thought which to my mind is more the reason to GAS. You are of course correct about the 70 Hemi-Challenger, but my point was simply that at the time, nobody wanted it. We were dealing with OPEC and our idea of expensive gas would be a joke compared to what's happening today, but nonetheless, my buddy who was a salesman at the dealership where the Challenger was for sale talked me out of it. As I said ,  Who knew ? Anyway, of course a 2000 FLHRSEI will never be in the same league with a 70 Hemi, but you know we (Baby Boomers) have enough things that we now have hindsight on that we should be able to exercise some degree of foresight

Right now there's no way to know the serial numbers of all the '00 SERGs. Eventually perhaps Marty's thread will document most of them but we're a long way from 1550 units now.  There used to be a service that would run a check of state vehicle registration databases and, for a fee, tell you how many vehicles like yours (based on VIN numbers) were still registered.  Is this something we as a group would want to do?

Miker and vintage rifles be damned, I'd trade LD for a stock 2000 FLHRSEI in B/W/O  OEM condition with reasonable miles on it even steven in a blink. I've had two bikes in my entire life I kick myself for letting them go along the way, the 2000 FLHRSEI being one.

Ride it like you stole it! Mileage is a badge of honor. I have 36k on mine and it looks great as well.

As an indication of the truth in what those of us who are saying collectible vice those who say no  I've had my offer to trade LD my 2007 6-speed, 103" Road Glide faux CVO full dress and chromed to the max with around $40k into it EVEN for a bone stock 2000 FLHRSEI in B/W/O posted on several boards several times and have yet to have even a nibble- - -not one !   That says it all

I'd trade you 103's bike for LD.

(never got any action on his SEEG so might as well try this one)
