HUB I would like to find someone that has tried the Avon Touring tires. I want a good opinion on this. I have heard good and bad about them. If not it will be Dunlops for sure.

THE DAWG
Yeah, 'er 'uh, DAWG,
I ran an AVON on the rear of my '89 Ultra, once. Even though it was an EVO, it would bust a 95" Twin-Cam in the first three gears, but really took a spankin' after that. At any rate, the Avon seemed to be better in, say the first 2500 miles. All around traction and ride, I'm talkin' about. After that it was like it got real hard. Like it was easier to spin than a Dunlop. Was actually quite dangerous on wet pavement, too. I'm a stickler for 38 PSI solo, and 40, 2-up. As for tire life, I have never even come close to any of the milage I've seen reported here. But if you've got Big HP, and Big TQ, and like to hear a V-Twin talk to ya', rear tire life is not an option. 5000 miles is the most I have ever gotten out of a rear tire, and I was scared to death it was gonna' blow, before I got it changed out. I'll stick with Dunlop, not to say they are better than AVON, or imply Avon is not a good tire. Later--HUBBARD
