The damn thing was most likely made in Mexico or Taiwan. The mofoco's just told 'em to match the gauges...and they matched it to the tach & speedo

We went out tonite... [smiley=drink.gif] [smiley=drink.gif]...And I got to thinkin'... It's probably just another ploy by the moco to suck more cash out of us! They most likely figure that if they get with the times and produce a gauge that has a lighted needle, that we will all upgrade the other 2" gauges to match. I'll be willing to bet that all the 07's have lighted needles. That's my story...and I'm sticken to it!!

So, who among us is going to be the first to cannibalize their worthless rain gauge for the needle to see how easy it is to remove so it can be swapped into the new oil temp gauge?

I have the air temp gauge from my seeg in front of me...looks like the chrome trim ring is formed over a lip of plastic.  Trying to pry it up is difficult....close to breaking the plastic.  this would not be easy.

Most likely does not fit the hole in the fairing anyway. ;)

So that's what the bungee cord and silicone in the package were for ?  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]  [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

"However, the matching oil, volt and fuel gauges will not be released until development and production of the matching air temperature gauge, Harley's most popular seller, the Company said."

Actually, a dipstick is at least functional - not sure the MoCo fits that definition.

I will preface the following by admitting I am anal: Okay, I picked up my oil gauge today...not sure what location I will mount it, but I did notice that the needle on the gauge is not an exact match to the other gauges.

So you're saying that, as dipsticks go, [highlight]HDI would be all dip and no stick[/highlight]?
