Hey there guys. I picked up the new gauge today :).

It's an exact match [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] No more worries, go ahead and order 'em up!

The only thing it's missing is the two small pins left & right for the needle to rest on "or be pegged against". All the other 2" o.e.m. gauges have the pins on our bikes. Other than that I placed it next to the other gauges in fairing and it's perfect.

Temp reading starts at 110 and tops out at 350 degrees.

The sending unit is spliced into the supply (feed) oil hose behind the right side oil line cover between the tranny & engine case.

Grover,
Cool bro, I'll have to go down to the dealer and see if they have any in stock.
More than likely not but nothing else order it up. Much better gauge to be keeping my eye on. Rather to know my oil temp, than outside air.
Glad to hear that it's a match gauge and not just close...

Mee twoo, I'm glad they match ours. I hope they will get it while bike is at shop.

PJ,
Thanks for that info. I was just about ready to spend some more money. [smiley=nervous.gif] Being the mechanically challenged individual that I am I was going to have the dealer do it while it was in for other mods. I would have been really upset to pick up bike and find that I had lost some chrome to gain a gauge that I've already spent $99.95 for Oil Temperature Dipstick with Lighted LCD Read Out. Granted the ambient temperature gauge is a waste, and I do have to look down and most likely be stopped to get a oil temperature reading, but I figure if I'm in the wind the oil temperature will take care of itself. the oil line cover will not fit after the sending unit is installed...at least that's what the instructions say.
