What is the purpose of this grease fitting?

As best I can remember, there is no grease fitting near the clutch inspection cover.  Give us a picture of what you're looking at if you can.

What is the purpose of this grease fitting?

The derby cover is on the left side of the bike.

There is a cover on the side of the transmission (right side of the bike) with a fitting.  This fitting is used to bleed the hydraulic clutch - it's not a grease fitting.
