Whether it was or wasn't a joke really doesn't matter in the end.  It it was it got several people's attention.  It it wasn't the guy didn't know something and asked a question.  I've done that many times myself.  This site is the home of the "mystery button" and the rain gauge after all.  Better to ask first than screw up later.

Who me?  I've never screwed up - well not yet today but the day is young!  Just give me a little time and I most likely will.    :D

Kind of like taking a can opener to a spray can to look at the little ball

you can't get grease in there anyway, most you'll do is fill the end of the bleeder with grease, as long as you don't open it first, which will be a huge stupid attack

What puzzled me is that the original post was for a grease fitting on the left side of the bike, so my first thought was on my 2003 Glide there was one for the shift arm at the front of the inner primary, I just assumed that this was what he was talking about.

Sooooooo, let me get this right, that is, no grease in that grease fitting.  Why do I grease it when it is hard to shift and then it is all better for awhile?????????

I believe the originator of this thread is riding a '08 Touring model, and there is no grease zerk for the shift linkage.  Might not be a bad idea, but Harley hasn't installed such a zerk in recent years to the best of my recollection.
