HOW MANY CVO'S?
« on: July 28, 2003, 05:30:14 PM »

I live in a small city, about 100,000. I was told months ago that they,(my dealer), would be getting only 2 FLHRSEI2 cvo bikes this year. I find out last week, that they received another one this week, and it's sold. I asked if they would be willing to do the paper work on one if I could find one, and they told me they are getting yet another one in august. I was able to put my name on it, and don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, but if my dealer is able to get 4 cvo's, when I know there are much larger dealers out there, I can't help but think that Harley is making more than they say. I asked my dealer this and he just shruged his shoulders and said I don't know. I wonder just how limited aproduction run this is?

H-D claims they will produce approx. 3,350 FLHRSEI2 bikes, this is up from approx 2,200 FLHRSEI bikes built in 02, the large increase may be in part due to the extended 2003 model year. my dealer recieved 3 FLHRSEI bikes last year i dont know how many the got for 03

Coolbreeze I was talking to a friend of mine that sells HD's. He told me that not all dealers will take thier CVO bikes. So they either sell them to other dealers or turn them back in to the MOCO. The dealers that can sell more then they are allotted put in for more CVO's. I don't know how the selection process goes as who gets what but that is how some dealers get more than others. So who knows if the MOCO is telling the truth.

One thing is for sure they sure don't build them fast!!!!! We saw that first hand.

Twolane how many do you think they were building in a day?????

THE DAWG

What we saw I'm sure hoping isn't representative.  Because nothing really moved while we were there.  At least not very much.  I think our passing through was kind of a disruptive influence to folks that used to be left alone.

However.....

Just from the limited number of people around that line, the limited equipment we saw, and the parts supplies at the line or stocked behind it I thought at the time that they'd pushing it if they were completing 25 bikes a day.  And I'm talking about both the Fatboy and Glide side of the line totalled together.

I seem to remember some comment by the tour guide that they took about 3 hours to build each bike on the CVO line.
