I don't care how STOL the Su 33 is the little deck on the Kuznetzov is a small place to put a big airplane.  Su 33 go arounds or worse haven't been uncommon even relative to the small amount of operational time that ship gets.  Here's one where the plane went swimming:

on first video, i would say the pilot was a fraction of 1/4 of a second from hitting the eject (get my azz out of here) button  :'(.... 2nd video,,, damn good panic button reflexes..  :2vrolijk_21:

Yeah, you know it's an "oh дерьмо!" (OH chit!) moment when your plane is supposed to take off on the ski ramp to the right and instead you're slip sliding away off an itty bitty landing pad with nothing in front of you but deep water.

That 1st jet was real close to rut-roh. Do you think they will deduct that from his pay check for letting his jet go swimming without a life vest?
