2011 SESG Seat
« on: March 05, 2011, 12:09:50 PM »

How are these holding up compared to the 2010 seats?  My dealer just swapped out my old seat for a 2011 seat and it will be a while before I get to put some miles on it.  Any gap issues?

I sold my 2011 seat to a guy that wanted to replace his 2010 seat. Don't know if it was a gap issue or he just thought it looked better but he did say it was a much better seat.

I have had zero gap issues with my seat...the only complaint was from my BSR that it wasn't as comfy as my onld FLHR seat. A $15 gel seat pad from WalMart cured that problem. I couldn't be happier with it and hadn't planned on repacing it.

Yeah Chris that was me! Yes it was a gap issue, and while i have a solo seat as well, I wanted a 2-up seat that didn't piss me off everytime i looked at it.... Plus it's a LOT nicer looking seat.

Thanks again (and i got the strap as well fyi) :2vrolijk_21:

Mine's a Danny Gray. Firm, but comfortable. Lowers the seat height a bit, but OK for me at 6'1"

I have a question about fitting a 2011 seat on a 2010 - Does the 2011 use the same rubber bumpers on the frame?  Are there bumpers at all on the 2011?

Local dealer just called- after replacing the 2010 seat with another later model 2010 with no luck, they are going to order a 2011 seat/rest as to solve the gap issue.

Wondering if there is bumpers that need to be changed too.

thanks

HDNIK, do you have the Buttcrack Solo?  I'm 6-2" and looking for a tad more leg room, thanks.

@TJ,

Did they warranty the passenger backrest pad and the seat, or just the seat.  My dealer just told me they were not aware of HD doing anything on the backrest pad.

Looking for a part number for the CVO passenger backrest pad to match the 2011 seat.

Your dealership should have it in the supplemental repair manuals...I'd look through mine, but I'm on the other side of the world from them right now. Sorry.

Doc tell your BSR to tuff it up, lol lol lol. You were good to get her that gel seat and keep he happy. She's a keeper. Check out the Air Hawk too, for rider and passenger. I got one for long rides and its great.
