Fullsac X Pipe
« on: March 07, 2011, 03:56:14 PM »

Does the Fullsac X pipe for a 2011 model CVO come with the exhaust bungs for the large (18mm I think) oxygen sensors?  I'm trying to decide whether to use the Fullsac exhaust or the stock 09 CVO pipes.  I'm going to use the Rev/Perf tuner with this setup because I have to modify the exhaust. I have to shorten the stock pipe a bit and add some extra exhaust pipe to hang the mufflers, this is a trike conversion.

Thanks
Dwight

Yes it will fit the bike and comes with the proper bungs. Fullsac has it covered.  I Actually had the same questio and asked revperf about it. They spoke with fullsac and got he answer. But I am looking forward to your fnal experience with this setup....I am thinking of doing the same, just need a little more $$$$.

FWIW: Fullsac has an x-pipe for the trikes. If your dimensions are the same as the Tri-Glide he has them.
I put that pipe on a 2011 Tri-Glide, fits like a glove.
Give Steve a call, he can help. 8)

Hogmike,
Unfortunately the dimensions aren't the same.  This is a Champion kit and the on line instructions indicate that you have to shorten the stock, in front of the muffler pipes.  Then you add a length of connector pipe to the shortened pipes (?) and hang the stock mufflers from that.  I won't know the dimensions until I get the kit, this is one of the reasons for the Rev/Perf tuner.  The Fullsac or stock 09 head pipes, whichever I end up using, will get rid of the cat for me.  I'm also installing the 30T front pulley.  This is all I'm going to do now, maybe later I'll look at cams, another reason for the Rev/Perf.

Thanks guys

IMO, ANY changes made to the exhaust/intake creates the need for more fuel to be added to the A/F mixture.  The bikes are already very lean from the factory to meet EPA emissions standards, and the Fulsac X pipe removes the CAT and allows a more free flowing exhaust, even with the stock muffler cores, so it will pull more air into the intake because more air is going out the other end which will make the mixture even leaner...not a good thing.

So, IMO, yes, you will need some kind of tuning device, and there are a bunch of choices out there...one of the best ways to determine which one to choose is to find a GOOD tuner in your area, and talk to him/her about which device they prefer to use.  Or, depending on how much you like to tinker with your bike, there are some options for self tuning devices as well, or ones that will allow you to tune the bike yourself....BUT, that is very dependent on how confidant you are in your ability to do such things.
