FXRG Pants
« on: March 07, 2011, 05:12:29 PM »

For you guys that have them, how do you like them?  I've got the leather middle weight jacket and it's great. Thinking about getting the pants.

   TIA

Both Trudy & I have them in the full leather style.  We love them.  Even here is AZ I wear them durning Nov, Dec & Jan for road trips.  I have ridden in them at 15 degrees.

Love em. Worn on all kinds of long rides, rain and shine. I'd say they're good to about 70 degrees or so but after that they're gonna be warm even with the leg vents open. It's a great pant.

Agree

I have worn them in overcast 70 degree & they are ok.  70 deg, in the sun, they are too warm for us.

All a round I say they are good to 65 deg.  Beyond that they are too warm, but go the other way & they are good down to 15 deg.

Bear in mind, these are the all leather ones we wear.  I say that because my wife just bought a very nice quality Textile Jacket, it definitely is not as warm as her comparable weight leather jacket.  So, the new combination Textile/leather FXRG's are probably not as good at 15 deg & better at 70 deg.

Have the pants and two sets for my wife (different sizes).

I like them, but would not pay the HD price. I waited till I found them on ebay for a good price. On the 3rd pair for me. There have been at last 3 different styles. The latest have full length zippers.

Each pair bought on ebay and the previous pairs sold on ebay

Never paid more then 100 and got over 100 on the two that I sold.

I like them. Comfortable, pretty good in the heavy rain and they have the armor padding.

I have the nylon FXRG vs. the leather.  Rode in the pants and top today 300 miles.  Began at about 48 degrees and in afternoon got to about 70.  Pants were fine, just took liner out of jacket as it warmed up. I bought the nylon rather than the leather because I thought I could ride in it comfortable in temps above what I could with leather.  I think the nylon is good to the mid 70s.  Above that it just gets too warm imo.
