A new guy from Minnesota . . .

I just joined this group and this is my first post! I'm considering the purchase a 2011 Softail Convertible and will be reading through many of the posts in order to learn as much as I can from the experiences of the rest of you. Currently, my bikes are a Harley Wide Glide and an American IronHorse Slammer. I would get rid of the Wide Glide since I only have the space (and $$$) for two bikes.

I'll probably look for an appropriate sub-forum to post a question about oil leaks. I've read about a number of the earlier 110 engines having issues with oil leaks (primarily from the rear cylinder). Is that still a problem with the new engines or has Harley corrected that problem. Any tips, suggestions, etc. about the FLSTSE2 would be appreciated.

Welcome to the site from Tennessee! I believe the rear cylinder oil leak was mostly a problem on 07 and 08 models. I'm sure others can be more detailed info on that. I think all if not most were covered under warranty.

WELCOME FROM CONCORD, N.C.  :2vrolijk_21: The oil leaks where associated with the 07's and the 08's. I personaly had no problems with my  08 but I did have the recall work performed. My 09 has not had any issues with oil ( other than a dealer screw up ). The CVO softtails are cool. 8)
