Deep Purple Rineharts

I am currently running a set of 3 year old Rinehart True Duals and I assume this is a common problem.  The endcaps are slowly turning color from black to a pretty shade of purple  :confused5:

Is there any fix?  Does anyone know if Rinehart is doing warranty?

Warranty? Dunno, since in the 3 yrs you've had them Bub and Rinehart split up, you might give them a call tho. If no, you can still purchase them from rinehart or on Ebay.

I had the same problem and many others as well. Don't depend on Bub coming forward on a fix,, only thing they'll help you with is taking your credit card number for a new set... but you have the option to go with chrome..  :nixweiss:

I had a similar problem on my Rinehart 2 into 1 on my SE Vrod, but couldn't be happier.  The tip faded into a golden bronze which looks awesome with the yellow chrome color of the bike!  Weird how it turned, but it works.  The Rinehart tip on the 2 into 1 on the SE Road King hasn't faded and has way more miles and hours on it, but stayed a nice deep black.

Same problem solved it by powder coating tips black, no blemishes whatsever since, permanent fix for poor quality.

FWIW: Gerald Reinhart was replacing the discolored tips for free a awhile ago. I don't know if he will still do it but it's worth a try.

Even if they are replaced powder coat is the way to go, I have never seen a set that did not turn colors after a short time.

Agree... other option(s) is to get chrome ones or just ignore the color change.

 :2vrolijk_21: Agree, shouldn't cost to much if you go with a standard color like black. Because I went with gloss black on my A/C end plate they just added it to one of their weekly runs and charged me $10!
