New CVO Street Glide - What should I change? 1st Pipes
« on: March 07, 2011, 08:25:31 PM »

I just bought a new 2011 Street Glide. I had a 103 Road Glide and thought the 110 motor would give more kick. I know I have to change the pipes but am not sure what to get and if this will give me more high end? What are some of my choices for pipes? should I also change the cams and get a race tuner kit?

Hey,
I changed the pipes, d&d boss fat cat, installed a se pro tuner. Mine runs so much better. No heat from the exhaust, loads of power. It ran good stock but now it is great. The Cvo street glide already has a good air cleaner so no need to change that. A lot of folks on here go with Fullsac stage one and are real happy. The d & d is not quiet but makes great power. Can still hear the radio ok. Overall I am real happy. I may change cams later but right now I am just going to ride and enjoy. Good luck. There are a lot of people on here with a lot of experience so I am sure you will get some good advice. Take care.

I did the Fullsac Stage I -- Header, 2.0 cores and TTS basic tune.

TOTALLY WORTH EVERY $$$$$.  The bike runs much, much, much better.

I had the D&D FatCat, quiet baffle on my 95" bike.  I loved the D&D a bunch and it made great seat of pants performance.  I just wanted the bike to look "stock" for the near term.

D&D FatCat, quiet baffle IS LOUDER than the Fullsac stage I

I'd buy a D&D in a heart beat.....but the Fullsac performs great.

So, if you want the dual exhaust...... go FULLSAC....... if you don't care about the looks.... D&D is tops in performance and fit and finish.

Change the pipes, mufflers and put in a tuner.  That's a great start, but doubt you'll finish there if you keep reading this site ;D
