Wow, that's some scary stuff. I'm still a relatively young guy

and haven't experienced any motorcycle related accidents, and am hoping I never will (but I know better). The military across the board, especially the Marine Corps, has begun a full throttle enforcing of motorcycle safety. More young military are coming home with extra cash in their pocket and are deciding they want a motorcycle (reminicent of previous wars). Unfortunately, many of them have had no prior motorcycle riding experience, thus more accidents. Add the fact that a great majority are buying performance bikes (aka crotch rockets) and riding like bats outta hell. As far as the Marine Corps goes, it's now mandatory for all Marines to wear DOT helmet, long sleeves, gloves, long pants, over-the-ankle boots, ballistic goggles or faceshield, and the most hated piece, the reflective vest. All this regardless of the temperature outside. We are also required to take a MSF safety course. I understand how important force protection is, but damn is it hard to cruise around the beach in hot temps with long sleeves and the chick-magnet factor drops exponentially with the vest.

But seriously, safety has rightfully become a huge concern considering the length of the war on terror. So if you see anyone you know is in the military riding around like idiots, please give them a dose of common sense.
