Well... got the Ultra CVO in January.
Traded a 2003 Ultra, 95" motor 203 cams, D&D FatCat.
New bike is nice. Not to bad a torque range, but the engine really seemed to choke out going up a moderate grade -- could not really exceed 85mph with a wide open throttle. Gas mileage was around 35mpg. Very quiet and HOT in traffic or stop and go.
Put around 1700 miles before I changed the exhaust.
Went with the FULLSAC Stage I -- Header, 2.0" cores and TTS with Fullsac basic tune. Install went pretty easy with not any problem. My compressor is dead so instead of using a die grinder, I used my cordless drill and stone to grind the welds. Took about 30 mins per muffler to grind away the welds.
Header from FULLSAC is nice -- good quality welds and workmanship. Cores appear to be basic, as you might expect cores. I left the packing from the stock pipes in. Sound level is louder -- not louder than my old D&D.... but louder. The tune installed very easy and was straightforward.
Performance was improved -- not from 1000....but really noticed at 2800+.... pulled very strong. Heat from header is way down. I have a very minor, hit and miss backfire on deceleration... not always.
I just did a 1300 mile trip fully loaded with my girl --- I'd say added about 375lbs with me, my girl and three bags full plus add-on bag. The trip included flat and several grades up to an elevation of 5000 ft. I got about 38mpg. I drove mostly at 80-85 mph.
Most importantly, the bike ran great! I have great power to accelerate at any elevation and in 6th gear! This bike pulls hard and increased in speed when I twisted the throttle going up a moderate grade, fully loaded! I could run up to +100mph with ease..... going up a hill. Downshifting was not necessary. I am really please with this minor Fullsac upgrade. Other than the piston slap, the engine ran flawless. I am very happy with this bike!
Next, I picked up my Corbin dual tourer, heated seat. Put 600 miles on this seat. WOW.... far better than stock. After 300 miles on the stocker, my backside was pretty soar. But with the Corbin -- felt much harder than the stock -- after 300 miles, no problems! And, it is not broken in yet. I expect it to be even more comfortable after 2000 miles.
Lastly, the handling on the new 2011 is far, far better! Much lighter feel and much more precise handling. I had a frame mounted stabilizer on the '03 -- which improved handling, but the 2011 is SO MUCH BETTER!
All in all....
2011 handling is very, very good compared to 2003
A MUST DO -- Fullsac, stage I at a minimum
Corbin seat -- looks like this will be worth the $$$$
The FLHTCUSE6 seems to be worth the cash.....
