Smitten by a 2011.5 FLHTCUSE6
« on: March 09, 2011, 08:52:29 PM »

It just started with the curiosity of what the color looks like since photos don't really capture well. For me I really liked it from the start and then seeing it outside was a deal. I've got some minor concerns not having the full wind in the knees what the King gave me as I rode mostly w/o the windshield.

I saw 2011.5 FLHTCUSE6 in Daytona. It was at the Harley Davidson exhibit on Beach street. It look great in the florida sun. Yes it did have shades of purple in it. I like my black ember & rio red. Thats  my 2 cents!

HELP!!!   RACERDJ....!!!

I have been smitten tooo....  I have seen the Red one Harley Guy 5, and it is DULL compared to this flashy blue... No offence, but the red one is a bit blending where this blue one is flashy and STANDS OUT...   Help, I have been smitten too Racer DJ!!!

I have a shot at one, 900 on build, 4 are coming to Australia in July, 3 taken, and I have a hold the remaining one....  I already have a very flash CVO Street Glide Hot Rod, but thin seat and beefed up suspension, means after a few hundred I am ready to GET OFF!!!  As I remember my last Ultra, air suspension half inflated and fat a$$ seat meant I could go 500 plus without wanting to get off...  This still true?

One more thing, they want $49,990 here for this one.  Mind you the A$ is about the same as the US$, there is about $3500 in compliancing with Australian approved tail light, indicators, wiring harness, tires, and speedo, and about $3500 in shipping, so that gets it down to $43,000, what does it cost in America???  Racer DJ, what did you pay so I can tell: How bad am I being bitten by HD Australia?

I will keep my CVO FLHX for the local stuff....
Talk me out of this Guys, Please?  Pretty Please???

Racerdj, can you let us know how the ride quality is compared to your CVO Streetglide? I'm very curious. Hope it isn't too soft.. :mango: :pineapple:

Hey there Lucky88,

My Street Glide runs the hard corners with more firm control when I am running hard... My Ultra was just a bit mushy and floated a little on the corners.  To be fair though, that softness was what I enjoyed on the long hauls, vrs the harder performance shocks and skinny seat ride of my FLHXSE2.

I only sold my 2010 Ultra, because the 103 was a bit of a dog, and the SE 110 Spoiled me...  Also the CVO looks of the Ultra are more appealing.  I sold my 2010 Ultra second hand for $31,000 so this upgrade is about $19,000 to get all the chrome, hydraulic clutch, 110 SE performance, in this 2011.5....

Really in my case, 59 y.o., FLHX performance shock suspension makes it more of a single rider short haul unit.  The Ultra is what you would want for Touring and the 110 is HEAPS more grunt and performance....

Hope this helps...  And hope my question on the $$$$ gets answered...

Hello Gear Head,
Life is too short to not have what is eye candy to you....

Duranh,
Thanks for that, HD site says "Starting at $36,500" so $39,000 sounds alright...

Mine (if I get it and I am a sucker for this so probably will) when it comes in July, will be $49,990.  But I just talked with the Dealer and he reminded me that there is about $2000 in on roads with taxes and such in Registration, and that price is the On Road total Registered.  That knocks it down to $47,990, and figuring about the $3500 in transport and $3500 in Compliancing if I went over to you and GOT one, that knocks another $7000, down to near what you have listed at $39,000

HD numbers here start at 5HD, where yours are 1HD.  Even if it was a little more money, I cannot import one privately as NO WARRANTY and because of that POOR TRADE IN....  Best Guess, I AM SMITTEN TOOOO.... Get mine for my 59th Birthday in July...

Best Regards to fellow Riders, from Oz.... Cowboy
