AFR... HD dealer had my bike running very lean up to 2200 RPM's (15.?)
Fixed and fine tuned by Andy Simon of Simons Performance.

Well looky, looky...

HP & TQ crossing @ 5250RPM. Good for you! And...$299, thats nothin compared wo what we have spent in here...

Congrats...thats much better.

Mental Note: I wonder if the injectors were bad in the 1st place.

Lokk at how lean the AFR is from 2200 and below. HD dealer called this optimal tuning. Any comments?? 15.4? Maybe that would explain the popping. I will leave it up to the experts to comment.

I am very pleased to have had the opportunity to meet Andy Simon. I will highly recommend him. I think he holds the WORLD RECORD FOR 1/4 MILE TIME & ALSO 1/4 mile TOP SPEED RECORD FOR STREET LEGAL MOTORCYCLES. Low 8 sec time and I think 156 MPH.... And he tuned my Bike!!! yehaw

So what ended up being the problem, and does it run better now-no popping? I had a similar problem and they replaced the injectors.Mine still pops occasionally though

This is the only thing I could come up with. Performance shop was unable to get a flat AFR. Found leaking intake gaskets. Replaced them with defective ones or when he tested with WD-40 he oversprayed either into the air cleaner or the intake gaskets were indeed bad again.
HD took it said nothing was wrong and after I pushed them they replaced the intake gaskets again. They tuned the bike using a standard mapping and said all was fine.  ??
I brought it to Andy and he re-tuned the AFR without any problems.
I still do not know what the problem was. I have no more loud popping.
The bike runs very smooth.

Thanks everyone. It is such  relief. I have always did my own stuff in the past but its apparent that without the Sniffing Dyno fine tuning these bikes is near impossible. I just hope "my problem" does not turn into someone elses problem. And I feel sorry for the New Dyna guys with the "On Board" oxygen sensors. You still need a Dyno, a race tuner and a advanced tuner to make it all happen. The Dynas run in whats called CLOSED LOOP but only until 4000 RPMS and then it goes OPEN LOOP thus creating the need for higher RPM tuning. That makes no sense to me. Its nice to be back in the saddle.  [smiley=banana.gif] [smiley=jalapeno.gif]

Thanks for that info Jerry. That is interesting to know about the Power Commander bypass. I am finally able to enjoy my new toy.
