Oil change
« on: March 13, 2011, 01:19:57 PM »

On the 110 engine, do I drain the oil on the lift or the jiffy stand to get all of the oil to drain?

I drain mine on the jiffy stand as the drain plug is on the jiffy hand side and the oil drains down hill to get most of it out.

Bob, since the drain plug is at the front of the oil pan should I also jack up the rear end of the bike :huepfenlol2: ?

Depends on how A/R you are, Don... ;)  With all the jacks, lifts, etc that you have, you could probably turn it upside down if necessary... :huepfenlol2:

MY opinion is that Obi Won should charge a fee for anyone starting an oil thread. He would then not have to post any requests for donations to keep the site running as his coffers would be full

I thought you kept adding new to replace the stuff that leaked out..

This method is known as a "progressive" oil change.

Too much trouble TC.  Once tried to put a bike on a jack on a lift on a spindle on a rotating table but never could get the RPM right for oil changes and centrefigual force ended up keeping oil in the bike rather than slinging every lost drop out.  Might have been a problem with the gyros mounted fore and aft of the rig too.  Sure can put a lot of thought in to a simple oil change though :huepfenlol2: .
