I have a question
« on: March 13, 2011, 04:39:49 PM »

Has anyone bought, tried, or seen the new LED headlights and driving/spot lights for the Harleys? I see that they have a reflective and black backgrounds. I have been
thinking about upgrading to LED lights but wondered how the headlights are. New cars and trucks are going this way and knowing the long life of leds this could make
repalcing lightbulbs a thing of the past. The cost is prohibitive but was wondering about replacing as an upgrade. Also has anyone put in Dakota Digital gauges in their CVO
Ultras?

There are several guys who have made the light and gauge changes you are asking about, I think nobody regrets upgrading the lighting systems. You can use the search tool on here to find plenty of detailed posts to read.

Checked the link on Dakota digtal gauges and was wondering who else used the gauges. Paying extra for the radio change sucks but.....
I did several searches on the LED Harley Lights but only came up with a thread that said Harley was making a new LED headlight. Same
results as I got before. That is why I had asked about the pricey LED lights. Also was wondering about the black background vs the reflective
background. I have thought about adding the oil temp gauge and like the idea that it is included in Dakota digitals gauges.

Type "LED lights" in the search feature on this forum......there are quite a few threads on them.

Same with Dakota Digital gauges. :2vrolijk_21:

HD doesn't make a set for the RG yet.  I don't know if there is a 3rd party solution available either.  I do know of someone who would love to locate LEDs for the RG though, so if you come up with something, let me know. :)

Then you have better move all those other threads that are askinng about harley parts and such. This was a legimate question on the general forum. If lights and gauges
are electronic toys and gadgets then start stripping the bikes of lights and gauges.

I fail to see why a guy (or maybe a woman) would join a website and within their 1st few posts attack the manner in which a particular issue happened to be catalogued into the general index of that website. For one thing your post(s) serve no legitimate purpose and to be honest come across as not only rude but just plain weird. I mean it's like somebody that works at the Library of Congress stumbled onto this website while having a bad hair day or something. Quitcherbitchin Dude (or Dudette) and get to know your way around the website, enjoy the information and camaraderie shared here.

He actually joined in 2007.  You'd think he'd have observed enough in that time.

You're asking about "new" LEDs with regard to an "upgrade" you're considering.  It is, therefore, a "toy."  If that's not enough, note the reference to LEDs in the subtitle of this board.
